Brushing your dog’s teeth not only provides him with great breath, but it prevents gingivitis and inflamed gums. Once gums are inflamed, bacteria that live in the mouth can enter your pet’s bloodstream which can cause serious health problems. For example, bacteria tend to settle on the heart valves (causing damage and murmurs), in the kidneys (causing renal compromise), and in the liver (causing hepatic disease). Tooth loss can also be prevented by routine and preventative brushing.

De-matting, untangling and straightening coat
Mats are nasty clumps of hair that may involve the topcoat, undercoat, dirt, burrs, loose hair hanging around and just about anything your dog may have gotten into. Because they can be quite damaging and even painful, the only solution is to remove them before they become more serious matters! Keeping your dog free of them is an ongoing task that begins by establishing a foundation of regular grooming habits. Dead hair is a breeding ground for mats. A coat that is brushed and clean stays in better condition and is less likely to develop them.

“De-skunking”
If you’ve crossed paths with one of these little creatures, you know that its spray not only stinks, but it burns and can cause temporary blindness if it is sprayed directly into the eyes. Tomato juice doesn’t work to remove the odor. Left untreated, musk takes months to wear off completely and will resurface when your pet gets wet in the rain or bath. Alley’s uses an enzyme based skunk removal system to return your dog to its lovable self.
